Fall/Winter Class Schedule: 2015
Thursday,September 24th: 10 am to 5 pm: DRESDEN PLATE WALLHANGING
You use a charm pack or your scraps to make this beautiful wallhanging for any season. Learn to make different sizes and shapes of flowers with your Dresden plate ruler or take your Dresden plates and make them in to a traditional quilt. Cost is $25.00 plus tax. Coffee/tea provided. Please bring a bag lunch.
Saturday, September 26th: 10 am to 5 pm: LEMOYNE STAR
We will spend the day using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star ruler to make a variety of stars. Your ruler comes with instructions to make a basic 8 point star block from 3' to 12" finished block. We will also explore other techniques such as Liberty Star, Strip Pieced Stars, Fussy Cut, Banded and Blazing stars in a variety of sizes, all made with the Lemoyne Star ruler. Ruler and fabrics sold separately. Cost is $25.00 plus tax. Coffee/tea provided. Please bring a bag lunch.
Thursday, October 1st: 10 am to 5 pm: DEMO WORKSHOP #1
This is a unique class consisting of 3 or 4 demos throughout the day. Participants will be given the opportunity to watch and then try out the demostrated techniques for themselves. Small samples of the materials provided for most of the demos but you may want to bring extra fabric as you will have about an hour after each demo to make your own project. Demos: 1. Binding a project. 2. HST - Half Square Triangles. 3. Paper Piecing. 4. Folded Attic Windows. Cost is $30.00 plus GST. Coffee/tea provided. Please bring a bag lunch.
Saturday, October 3rd & 17th: 1 pm to 4 pm: KIDS CAN QUILT
This class and the project is designed for children age 7 to 12. Precut fabrics and batting for a small (42" x 56") cuddle quilt will be provided for each student. The class will be a total of 2 Saturday afternoons,October 3rd & 17th. Each child will need to bring a sewing machine and a parent or responsible adult to assist them. The cost is $85.00 plus tax per child (includes materials). Coffee/tea/juice provided.
Thursday,October 8th:10 am to 5 pm: SIGNS OF AUTUMN TABLE RUNNER with CHERYL ANN
Use your batik scraps to create this beautiful runner created by Deb Tucker Studio 180 Designs. It uses her Wing Clipper I and Corner Beam rulers to make stunning leaves and flying geese with accurate points. Cost is $25.00 plus tax. Coffee/tea provided. Please bring a bag lunch.

Saturday, October 24th & November 7th: 10 am to 5 pm: ADULT BEGINNER LOG CABIN CLASS
This is a great class to learn some basic quilting techniques and become familiar with or maybe reacquainted with your sewing machine. This will be a two day class. The first day you will learn the measuring, cutting, sewing and pressing basics you will need to make your Log Cabin blocks. The second day we will show you how to put the blocks togethe, sandwich, quilt and bind your lap quilt. We will also cover preparing your quilt for the longarm. Cost is $50.00 plus tax for both days. Thursday, November 5th: 10 am to 5 pm: TWO FABRIC BARGELLO LAP QUILT
I often hear that the hardest part of making a bargello quilt is picking the fabrics; not anymore! This stunning lap quilt is made with two fabrics. You can choode from the patterns available or design your very own quilt. Cost is $25.00 plus ax. Coffee/tea provided. Please bring a bag lunch.

Saturday, November 21st: 10 am to 5 pm: TUMBLING BLOCKS LAP QUILT
Based on Marci Baker's book ABC 3-D Tumbling Blocks and the 60 degree Clearview Triangles,there are no inset corners in this small but stunning quilt. It is an excellent introduction to using the clearview triangles for other projects such as the "Hollow Cube", "Not Your Grandmother's Log Cabin, "Honeycomb" and many more. Cost is $25.00 plus tax. coffee/Tea provided. Please bring a bag lunch.
Saturday, November 28th & December 12th: 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm: TEENS CAN QUILT TOO
This class is designed for students age 13 to 18 who would like to get into quilting and make a small size lap sized quilt for themselves. On the first afternoon (Nov. 28th) we will go over the basic operation of the sewing machine and some basic quilting techniques but will be using precut "Jelly Rolls" so we will not be using the rotary cutters. We will start sewing the quilt top. Students will have a couple weeks to complete the top.In the second afternoon (Dec. 12th) we will add borders, sandwich,quilt and bind the quilt. Cost is $30.00 plus GST for both days. The materials are extra (Approx. $130.00) for quilt top, borders, binding, batting and backing.Kits will be available for $110.00
Thursday,December 3rd: 10 am to 5 pm: STARBURST CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH
In this class we will use the 90 degree Quarter Square Triangle from Creative Grids to make a beautiful 60 x 60 tablecloth with just 3 Christmas fabrics. It was hard to choose a project for this class as there are countless designs you can sew with this versatile ruler. Cost is $25.00 plus tax. Coffee/tea provided. please bring a bag lunch.

Thursday, December 10th: 10 am to 5 pm: STAINED GLASS APPLIQUE X-MAS RUNNER
This class will focus on applique using a quilt as you go technique and bias tape to give a "Stained Glass" appearance to your project. I will also demo how to use bias tape makers to make your own bias tape or "Lead" for your project. There are many patterns availableto choose from. Cost is $25.00 plus tax. Coffee/tea provided. Thursday, December 17th: 10 am to 5 pm: BARGELLO TABLE RUNNER CLASS
The bargello design makes a stunning runner for your table, a beautiful wall hanging or you can chose from the many books and patterns available and start your bargello quilt. We will also explore the quilt as you go as an option for the runner and wall hanging. Cost is $25.00 plus GST. Materials are extra. Coffee/tea provided. Please bring a bag lunch.
